"I humbly adore the acts of the Most High, Who has given to the synthesizer what is better than a soul, so that, when it plays, the men are silent. And their hands cover their veils to hide their emotions. The troubles of life were pushing me into the tomb, but thanks to the synthesizer, God has given me back my life."

Paolo Bacigalupi’s novel The Windup Girl has me utterly gripped at the moment. It’s a brilliant tale of a dystopian future with a real classicism of storytelling underscoring events. This is cyberpunk without the cyberspace so it speak, call it biopunk or a neo agricultural thriller even?
You should really read it bro, it has it all. Sex, murder, mystery, intrigue and bio-engineered new people.
